Low Moor, VA, May 26, 2005 Alleghany Regional Hospital has announced the start of a new patient transport service via helicopter. The hospital has initiated a contractual agreement with AirCare Medevac, a division of PHI, Inc. AirCare Medevac will provide transportation and in-flight intensive care to patients from Alleghany Regional Hospital to a tertiary medical center such as Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.
The helicopters servicing ARH will be based our of the AirCare Medevac base located in Weyers Cave, VA. Each aircraft in the AirCare fleet is staffed by a pilot, nurse and paramedic. Safety in our number one priority, stated Brett Henyon, Clinical Base Manager for AirCare. The pilots and maintenance technicians are among the most experienced, dedicated and best trained in the world. This commitment to safety also the medical teams to concentrate totally on crucial responsibilities of patient care.
